Dear WLA Middle School Parents and Guardians,<\/span><\/p>\n

On behalf of the faculty and staff at WLA Middle School, we are happy to welcome you to the\u00a0<\/span>2023-2024<\/span>\u00a0school year! We look forward to working together with you as we continue to empower, educate and inspire our WLA students within our dual immersion community. Go Toros!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

As the start of the school year quickly approaches, we have a few dates and bits of information we would like to share with you. Please call the school on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm with any questions you may have. Our office number is 770-533-4004. Infinite Campus & Schedules<\/strong><\/p>\n

WLA MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT CLASS SCHEDULES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN INFINITE CAMPUS PARENT PORTAL BEGINNING\u00a0<\/span>MONDAY<\/span>, JULY\u00a0<\/span>24<\/span>\u00a0AT 12:00PM!!<\/span><\/div>\n

October 2<\/span>1<\/span>– Fall International Festival at WLA Elementary<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Car Rider Information<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Parents are asked to enter through the Poplar Springs student drop off entrance, circle around\u00a0<\/span>(using both lanes)<\/span>\u00a0and drop off\/pick up at the main entrance of the Academies of Discovery building. This is the same proc<\/span>edure as last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Parking<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      We have our own WLA Entrance and parking area on Atlanta Hwy (next to the gym) for late check-ins and early check-outs.<\/span><\/p>\n

      • WLA Buses<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Morning:<\/span>\u00a0We offer bus transportation to students living in the following attendance zones: Myers, McEver, Chicopee Woods, Chestnut Mountain, Friendship, Spouts Springs, and Lyman Hall.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Buses will pick students up from the home address in the morning and drop them at their neighborhood elementary school. A WLA shuttle bus will then transport the students to WLA Elementary and then WLA Middle School.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Afternoon<\/span>: Students are transported directly home after school. There is an af<\/span>ternoon<\/span>\u00a0shuttle<\/span>\u00a0to WLA Elementary available to students in the YMCA program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

        The safety, security and health of our students and faculty is our number one priority at WLA Middle School. As a result, we will continue to keep all exterior doors securely locked at all times.\u00a0 Visitors are asked to use the outside 2-way intercom to call the WLA office for late arrivals, early check-outs and general assistance.\u00a0 Parents and other visitors will be permitted to enter the building if they have a scheduled meeting with a faculty member or if they volunteer for a special event or classroom activity. Please remember to bring a picture ID when visiting the school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        School uniform is\u00a0<\/span>not<\/span>\u00a0required for WLA students in grades 6-8.<\/span><\/p>\n

        The Hall County School District\u2019s Dress Code expressly lists items that cannot be worn on page 8 of the student agenda. If students are found to be in violation of the dress code and are not able to reach a parent\/ guardian to bring an extra change of clothes, they will be given an alternate clothing option for the remainder of the day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
